Lifecycle Biotechnologies Celebrates 40 Years of Business with its Boval BioSolutions Brand
FORT WORTH, Texas (PRWEB) July 24, 2018 -- Boval was founded in 1978 when Mr. Douglas Northcott began making bovine serum albumin (BSA) to support blood bank reagent suppliers. In Boval’s early days most of the BSA manufactured was for blood banking reagents; however, in the late 1980’s, lyophilization capabilities were added to produce BSA for diagnostic purposes after gel cards changed that market and displaced most of the large volume needs. Boval progressed on steadily until 2004’s, when Cody Yarborough purchased the company with an expectation to drive growth through new product development.
“Since acquiring the company, we have sparred with economic downturns, the emergence of giant competitors, hired a lot of people, and traveled the world looking for new markets and raw material sources,” said Cody Yarborough, Owner and Managing Member for Lifecycle Biotechnologies. “In that time, sales at Boval have quadrupled and our sales footprint has reached over 20 countries. When I look back since we acquired Boval, I think about how pivotal moments are tied together to bring us to where we are today. To reach 40 years as an independent company means you have to have great employees and great customers.”
From 2004 to today, Boval continued to evolve and launch products to expand and better support the markets it serves including…
• the development and commercialization of BSA products for cell culture and regenerative medicine designed to provide superior growth promotion of mammalian cells when added to cell culture media as a supplement to increase the growth and productivity of cells and increase overall cell health,
• production of Human Serum Albumin (HSA) products offered as an innovative and new cell culture grade of HSA and an alternative to the USP therapeutic grade HSA,
• BSA products were again added as an anti-wrinkle component that produces a tightening effect on the skin when added to serums or creams for the personal care industry.
Boval’s longevity, innovative formulations, and extensive cell culture research from animal and non-animal derived proteins, combined with their unique testing capabilities for chemical, physical, and microbial purposes, have made them one of the world’s largest and foremost experts in Albumin.
