New Memoir, ‘Waging Justice’ Details One Doctor’s Life, his Fight for Justice
BETHESDA, Md. (PRWEB) July 17, 2018 -- For Dr. Paul Zeitz, justice is the path to peace. In his debut title, “Waging Justice: A Doctor’s Journey to Speak Truth and Be Bold” (published by Balboa Press, September 2018), Zeitz shares his quest to fight against injustice and understand his own chaotic childhood. In sharing his story, the doctor highlights the power of honesty and boldness, and encourages readers to work toward fairness for all. The launch of “Waging Justice” coincides with recognition of the International Justice Day celebrated around the world and in tandem with the launch of the Global Race for Climate Smart Sustainable Development in conjunction with this year’s high-level United Nations annual global review of progress.
Beginning with Zeitz’s early years in Philadelphia as the son of a hard-working – and belligerent – hoagie-shop owner, the memoir takes readers through the author’s rising up in government, leading a global charge against AIDS and climate change, and the development of his personal life. In addition to his career, Zeitz describes meeting and marrying his therapist’s daughter, becoming a father of five boys and uncovering repressed memories of incest. By illustrating how personal transformation can lead to global activism, “Waging Justice” encourages readers to “wage justice” within themselves, in their relationships, families, communities and in the world.
Zeitz is taking his memoir on tour, doing press interviews and events to publicize his book. Initial tour stops are scheduled in Washington, Baltimore, New York City, Philadelphia, Allentown, Pennsylvania and San Jose, California. Updates on tour schedule, speaking events and news can be found at http://www.drpaulzeitz.org. “Waging Justice” is available for purchase at: https://www.amazon.com/Waging-Justice-Doctors-Journey-Speak/dp/1982205423.
According to Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, “‘Waging Justice’ is a deeply personal story of courage and compassion with global implications. This heartfelt memoir shows how a doctor with vision can help fix what’s broken in our world. Dr. Zeitz is a man of conscience who shares my commitment to bringing hope to the world’s poor. Please read Waging Justice. You won’t regret it!”
United Nations Under-Secretary General and Special Adviser on Africa Bience Gawanas says, “Dr. Paul Zeitz’s story is a combination of serving humanity according to his oath as a health professional and questioning the injustice and inequality surrounding us. He does so fearlessly, with courage and passion. ‘Waging Justice’ is what everyone in the world who is working on sustainable development needs and a must-read for professionals and activists.”
Pop-artist Alicia Keys says, “I’ve known Paul since 2001 when we first teamed up in the global fight against HIV/AIDS, and we’ve worked together ever since. I’m moved by the backstory in Waging Justice, as Paul inspires me with his courage and tenacity. Put the biggest boulder in the path of the ambitious, stubborn, and hardworking Dr. Paul Zeitz and you can be sure he’ll find a way around it. If not over it, under it, or around it, he’ll grab a jackhammer and pound right through it. Paul is a driving force in ending the epidemics of AIDS, poverty, and sexual abuse that are raging through the world. Paul brings his can-do spirit to everything he does, including fighting for justice. This is a book you want to, no, you have to read. Dr. Zeitz's voice should be heard by everyone.”
