New Dedicated Senior Medical Center Brings Affordable Concierge-Style Health Care to Bradenton Seniors
BRADENTON, Fla. (PRWEB) July 18, 2018 -- ChenMed, a leading primary care provider, will celebrate the Grand Opening of its new Dedicated Senior Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla., on July 26-27, 2018.
That community celebration, and Dedicated’s ongoing delivery of concierge-style health care to Bradenton seniors – all at little to no cost to patients – is the first in a series of expected milestones benefiting from a significant economic development investment made by unanimous action of the Manatee County Board of Commissioners.
“We are so grateful to Manatee County for its strategic investment to help bring Dedicated Senior Medical Center to Bradenton,” said Christopher Chen, MD, CEO of ChenMed (the parent company to Dedicated), which has been transforming care for seniors for over 30 years. “Dedicated is looking forward to honoring Bradenton seniors with affordable VIP care that delivers better health.”
Demonstrating its strong commitment to quality health care for local seniors, Manatee County recently committed $150,000 over the next five years to support the new Dedicated Bradenton center, for which ChenMed is investing $23 million in construction and operational support during the same period. Dedicated expects to ultimately create 35 well-paying jobs at the community-focused center, including physicians, clinical support, administrators, and community engagement specialists.
Priscilla Trace, Chair of the Manatee County Board of Commissioners, said, “The new Dedicated Center in Bradenton represents a great opportunity for Manatee County seniors to have outstanding primary care physicians serving as their total care champions. The innovative medical practice is expected to help thousands of Manatee County seniors enjoy better health, so Dedicated will enrich our community for years to come.
“At Dedicated,” Commissioner Trace added, “patients are encouraged to come in for daily walk-in appointments, when needed. At Dedicated, patients have their PCP’s cell phone number to get questions answered anytime. Plus, at Dedicated, door-to-doctor transportation makes it easy for seniors to see their doctors. I’m so happy that Manatee County was able to help Dedicated start serving our community.”
“We’re so aligned with the Manatee County Board of Commissioners goals of protecting and improving the health, welfare, safety and quality of life of Manatee County residents,” explained Gaurov Dayal, MD, ChenMed President of New Markets and Chief Growth Officer. “Seniors often are living with complex health challenges, and we provide innovative services to deliver best-in-class individualized care. Our doctors earn trust by nurturing the meaningful relationships that frankly are vital to improving health for seniors.”
A provider of high-quality medical care to underserved Florida seniors in Clearwater, Lakeland, Tampa and St. Petersburg, the physician-led care teams at Dedicated’s new Bradenton location are passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes that help patients avoid unnecessary emergency room visits and in-patient hospital admissions.
The new Dedicated Senior Medical Center, also is benefiting from funding from Turner Impact Capital, which, for more than 20 years has been combining the goals of profit and purpose to create lasting benefits for underserved communities.
Dedicated’s high-touch approach to care is founded on the proven ChenMed model that for years has been helping seniors thrive in Florida (Clearwater, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties; Tampa, St. Petersburg), Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Virginia (Richmond and Tidewater).
Notable successes for seniors achieved by ChenMed medical practices are documented in a five-year report showing that ChenMed PCPs invest an average of 189 minutes face-to-face with each patient annually – more than nine times the national average (21 minutes for general and family physicians).
By spending more time with patients, ChenMed doctors build valuable relationships and provide highly coordinated care that reduces ER and hospital visits. ChenMed rates of ER visits are 33.6 percent lower than the national average among Medicare beneficiaries. ChenMed patients also average 28 percent fewer hospital admissions and 25 percent fewer in-patient days than the average Medicare beneficiary.
The new Dedicated Bradenton center has opened its doors to serve initial patients, and Dedicated invites seniors in greater Manatee County to attend a two-day grand opening celebration at the center, located at 1505 53rd Avenue East, on July 26 and 27, between 10 AM and 2:00 PM. Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to meet with Dedicated physicians, take a tour of the new center, and learn more about the special services available.
