RAINSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- WordSouth, a content marketing company serving the rural electric and telecommunications industries, has welcomed Carrie Huckeby as its Director of Strategy and Training.
In her new role, Huckeby will work with WordSouth's team of creative professionals to help clients with strategy, customer experience, messaging, budgeting, sales, product pricing and other company disciplines. She will also provide customer service and overall customer experience training for WordSouth clients.
"We are thrilled to welcome Carrie to the WordSouth team, because we know the value she will bring to our clients," said Stephen V. Smith, WordSouth president and CEO. "Her skills strongly complement the work we've been blessed to do for the past 23 years. The companies we serve are changing lives across rural America, and Carrie is going to help us have an even greater impact on that mission."
Huckeby has worked in marketing for some 30 years at companies that include Ben Lomand Connect, WK&T Telecommunications Cooperative, Ardmore Telephone Company, Telecom Management Services and McMinnville Electric System.
Across her career, Huckeby has been responsible for marketing, sales, communications, public relations, customer service and operations. An industry leader, she served 12 years on the marketing committee for NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association. She chaired the Tennessee Telecommunications Association marketing committee for several years.
After retiring as Chief Marketing Officer from TMS earlier this year, Huckeby launched a consulting business. In that capacity, she partnered with WordSouth on projects that included mystery shopping, brand strategy and competitive analysis.
Huckeby said the decision to join WordSouth in an official capacity was a natural progression. "I'm truly blessed to have the opportunity to join WordSouth's talented team," she said. "I've worked with the company for several years as a client, and I know they work hard to produce effective, award-winning projects for those they serve."
The director of strategy and training position plays to Huckeby's strengths. "It's two things I love," she said. "I enjoy the challenge of understanding customer demand and matching it with company product, service and profitability. Training fits hand in hand with strategic direction because it helps employees speak confidently and comfortably in the sales solution role."
Huckeby said she is excited to reconnect with friends she has made across the country in her telco marketing career. "These are challenging and exciting times in the broadband industry, and I'm certainly looking forward to this next adventure," she said.
