Nominations Open for PRECO Electronics® 2018 Excellence in Safety Award
BOISE, Idaho (PRWEB) November 15, 2018 -- PRECO Electronics, the global leader in heavy-duty collision mitigation technologies, is now accepting nominations for the eighth annual Excellence in Safety Award. Recognizing the achievements of safety professionals each year, the Excellence in Safety Award honors those who educate and take action to improve safety on and off the worksite.
“Each year we recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to safety and the heavy-duty industries,” Tom Loutzenheiser, PRECO’s Vice President of Business Development said. “Through the Excellence in Safety Award, we celebrate leaders across the industry for their initiative, tenacity, and vision in an area PRECO proudly represents, supports and continuously strives to improve.”
After decreasing incident rates by 50 percent as his fleet doubled in size, Michael Posz, Director of Safety at Fraley & Schilling was awarded the 2017 Excellence in Safety Award. Through his proactive vision, Posz introduced new technology, increased education, and added onboard training for his operators to successfully streamline efficiency and safety.
Past recipient, Posz, and dual 2016 Excellence in Safety Award recipients SWANA’s David Biderman and the City of Oxnard Environmental Resources Division’s George Van Hemert, represent the difference safety leaders with effective strategies make within the community, business or industry.
Since its inception, the Excellence in Safety Award has recognized and honored safety professionals and leaders who have contributed significantly to the development of best practices and successful safety programs across the heavy-duty industries.

The top award nominees will be provided excerpts featuring their greatest accomplishments by PRECO Electronics. The team will write an individualized article centered around the career history and safety highlights of the 2018 Excellence in Safety Award recipient.
Award Criteria
- Initiative: The nominee demonstrates leadership, initiates open discussions, introduces programs, and gives voice to safety concerns within the industry, community, or business.
- Involvement: The nominee takes an active role in industry associations, community safety programs, and/or business/legislative policy changes to advance safety.
- Innovative: The nominee is creative and imaginative; introduces new ideas and suggestions to move safety into the forefront of the community, legislature, business or industry they serve.
This award is intended to recognize an individual that demonstrates excellence in advancing best safety practices throughout the community, business or industry by continuously going above and beyond to integrate, innovate, and educate others to inspire change and improve safety.
