LAS VEGAS, July 14, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Trinity Allen, a Multipure-sponsored Las Vegas native, and USA Karate athlete, won the Bronze Medal in 55kg Kumite at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama.
A second-degree black belt who has represented USA Karate in 16 countries, Trinity Allen competed in her World Games event on July 8th, where she went undefeated in the preliminary rounds – defeating Kathryn Campbell of Canada and Jana Messerschmidt of Germany, before reaching a draw against the eventual Silver Medalist from Egypt, Ahlam Youssef. Her strong showing carried her to the semifinals, where she was defeated by the eventual Gold Medalist from Ukraine, Anzhelika Terliuga. Trinity went on to defeat Jennifer Warling of Luxembourg to earn her Bronze Medal behind Gold Medalist, Terliuga, and Silver Medalist, Youssef.
The World Games is an international sporting event held every four years, featuring thousands of the world's best athletes competing in over thirty different multi-disciplinary sports. Trinity Allen's competitive sport, kumite, is a karate sparring competition which awards points for punches and kicks based on contact point, timing, form, technique, and distance. The 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama marked the games' 40th anniversary, and the first time the event has been hosted in the United States since the inaugural World Games held in Santa Clara, California, in 1981.
