Exterior design
The chassis of LETSHUOER D13 reused the same aluminum production processes as the well-regarded LETSHUOER S12. On the design side, the chassis is cylindrical shaped and decorated with a rainbow-shaped sonic impulse. Frontal vent hole is hidden within said pattern.
The dual pin receptacle is separated from the main chassis. We did this to minimize the space within the main chamber, while making the design visually less busy. Three vent holes are added to the other side of the chassis to ensure wearing comfort, mitigate driver flex, and reduce in-ear pressure while listening to music.
In terms of color choices, we have the classic black + red combo, and an exciting blue + copper look.
Driver
The moving coil IEM- D13 has a special 13mm dynamic driver that utilizes a diamond-like carbon (DLC) diaphragm, which has the same strength profile as a metal dome while having less harshness and metallic sheen to the sound reproduction. This custom driver is built to LETSHUOER's spec. The main goal is to increase dynamics and driveability.
While the chassis is tiny, the driver is quite big in diameter. The main advantage is sub bass extension and bass quantity without sacrificing clarity in the mids. By installing the driver into a separate acoustic chamber, the size of the IEM is greatly reduced, and driver uniformity is increased so to lower unit variance.
Cable
Stock cable of LETSHUOER D13 is comprised of 216-strands high purity monocrystalline copper that is hand wounded into shape. Users can have a choice of 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced connector to match with various source component.
Technical design
LETSHUOER D13 has a swappable treble filter. The nozzle is increased in length so to minimize the risk of it falling off during use. Standard filter has a single side of damping material, which would deliver a more lively presentation. Attenuated filter has double sides of damping material, which would allow for bass being more prominent under the same sound pressure level. Inside the box is a set of bass focus tips that is available for further tuning the overall sound.
