The Last Poet Dahveed Nelson returns to the public eye as The Great Grandfather of Universal Rapport (Gg4) and with an art collection that encourages us to befriend precious metals and celebrate Black women.
PHOENIX, July 14, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- If, as journalist Michael Roberts declared in his 1992 article, Dahveed Nelson is the Father of Rap, then we can metaphorically say that soon after the birth of rap Dahveed entered a cocoon of obscurity only to emerge nearly 50 years later as the butterfly known as The Last Poet Gg4 – Great Grandfather of Universal Rapport.
Gg4 comes bearing gifts and is proud to present an art collection entitled, "Precious Moments." Precious Moments takes the ancient art of combining precious symbols with precious metals, to create precious momentum to shift us into higher consciousness. The collection is launching with his poem "Black Woman" recast into silver.
"Silver is the frequency of peace. What better way to honor the powerful balancing force of the divine feminine, than to cast a dream for a beautiful world that she evokes into silver?" says Dahveed Nelson Gg4.
The centerpiece of this homage to Black women is a limited edition set of 52 silver Equity Cards with the poem engraved. Only 52 of these "art currency" cards were created to celebrate the 52 year anniversary of the poem's appearance in "Right On!" — the Last Poets film. "Black Woman" was the heart of the critically-acclaimed film.
The cards are complemented by wearable art in the form of signed silver pendants with a ruby inset. Each pendant comes with a silver chain and a printed "Black Woman" poem on paper. Only 520 pendants exist.
The pieces are hand-crafted by renowned artisan Steven Nkiru Richardson, who brings the valuable concept of creating art using silver, gold and platinum and incorporating an Equity Card to produce an art currency. Nkiru only uses the highest purity silver, 950 silver, tapping into the metaphysical healing properties of this precious metal.
"Silver brings beautiful change and can build a great foundation for wealth around you. And you can significantly enrich your life by accumulating precious metals like silver if you understand how to apply the formula," says Nkiru.
Gg4 and Nkiru are inviting Black men, and any who wish to honor and celebrate Black women, to gift their favorite Black women these heirloom pieces that appreciate in value.
"These pieces have intrinsic value because they are time capsules that call forth a new era of divine human progress, but reconnecting the people of the planet to these powerful precious elements in a way that invites healing and harmony is our mission," adds Dahveed Nelson Gg4.
The Precious Moments collection also consists of two prints of original art pieces created with precious metals. The commemorative prints are available as paper cards with the poem and are hand-signed by Gg4. There are 520 cards in this limited edition printing.
Gg4 and Nkiru selected "Black Woman" as the first poem for the collection because it connected a thread of inspiration between the two of them to honor the divine feminine.
All of the items in the collection are available at TheLastPoet.org while stocks last.
