FALINUX is in Production with Avalanche’s Persistent-SRAM Products

FALINUX has designed in Avalanche’s 8Mb High Performance Serial P-SRAM device into its next generation Human Machine Interface (HMI) products used in industrial automation systems.

Avalanche Technology, the leader in next generation MRAM technology, announced today that it is providing Persistent SRAM (P-SRAM) products for industrial touch screen applications developed by FALINUX. FALINUX has designed in Avalanche’s 8Mb High Performance Serial P-SRAM device into its next generation Human Machine Interface (HMI) products used in industrial automation systems.

FALINUX chose Avalanche’s highly reliable P-SRAM for its industrial HMI applications due to their ease of use, instant write capability, practically unlimited endurance and data retention in harsh environmental conditions, and an upgrade path for future product enhancement. HMI requires an external non-volatile expansion RAM memory to store pre-rendered graphics, messages, and data related to alarms and internal registers. Data and message logging require the RAM to have high endurance to survive repeated read-write operations. This RAM also needs to be capable of fast and reliable writes, in order to protect data in the event of unexpected power loss.

Avalanche P-SRAM
Avalanche’s high-performance Serial P-SRAM leverages our advanced high reliability STT-MRAM (Spin Transfer Torque MRAM) and behaves like persistent SRAM. Offered in densities from 1Mb to 16Mb, it is a true non-volatile random-access memory, ideal for applications that must store and retrieve data without incurring large latency penalties. These devices are low power, offer virtually infinite endurance and retention, and are available in standard small-footprint packages that are ideal for size-constrained IoT and Industry 4.0 applications.

Avalanche’s Parallel P-SRAM is also based on the same highly reliable, non-volatile STT-MRAM technology and is available in 1Mb-64Mb density options. These devices come with a standard 35-nanosecond asynchronous SRAM interface and offer low power, and virtually infinite endurance and retention. These devices are ideal for non-volatile memory applications such as program storage and data logging in Factory Automation, Motor Control, Human Machine Interfaces, Smart Meters, and Multifunction Printers.
