Four EdTech Vendors Earn Project Unicorn Interoperability Certification
Vendor Certifications Highlight the Interoperability of Edtech Tools
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Sept. 20, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- InnovateEDU's Project Unicorn announces four education technology product vendors who have completed their Project Unicorn Interoperability Certification. The Project Unicorn Interoperability Certification signals that an edtech product prioritizes data interoperability: the seamless, secure, and controlled exchange of usable data between applications. It also helps school districts and educators recognize vendors with a commitment to better informing instruction and driving student-centered learning experiences. They join a growing community of edtech vendors who have completed the Project Unicorn certification process.
The following four vendors have completed the Project Unicorn Interoperability Certification:
- Formative
- Aeries Student Information System, created by Aeries Software
- Istation Assessments, created by Istation
- Qmlativ, created by Skyward, Inc.
"The vendors receiving the Interoperability Certification are empowering school systems to do more with their data," said Susan Bearden, the Director of Digital Programs for InnovateEDU. "We applaud these forward-thinking companies for their commitment to prioritizing data interoperability in their product design."
"The 2022 CoSN survey released just two weeks ago cited the lack of interoperability among products as one of the top two concerns of district IT leaders," shared Erin Mote, Executive Director of InnovateEDU. "Companies who pursue this certification can be confident they are meeting a growing demand for interoperable tools in the edtech marketplace - while also meeting the most urgent needs of districts."
Project Unicorn interoperability certifications are featured on various product indexes, such as the Edsurge Product Index, allowing customers access to a wealth of edtech product information.
"We believe that product interoperability is critical to ensuring our solution fits seamlessly within the existing learning ecosystem of our partner schools and districts. When we meet districts where they are, we can remove unnecessary barriers and focus on supporting their learning outcomes," said Craig Jones, CEO and Co-Founder of Formative. "We decided to work with Project Unicorn on our certification because we value their advocacy to improve the exchange and usage of data to enhance school operations."
EdTech vendors certified by Project Unicorn recognize the ever-increasing need for interoperable tools and are committed to their development.
"Interoperability has been a core tenet of Aeries Software since the company's founding in 1995," notes Tracey Berry, Business Analyst at Aeries Software. "We fundamentally believe that education data belongs to the schools and districts who manage it. Data should be able to flow freely and seamlessly between systems."
