NOVUS, the independent media planning and buying agency, is proud to announce three new major employee moves: Montrew Newman has been promoted within the organization to Senior Vice President, Head of Strategy; Paul DeJarnatt has been hired from Digitas as NOVUS’ new Vice President, Digital; and Chris Aubin has been hired from Starcom as NOVUS’ new Vice President, Integrated Client Strategy.
A rapidly growing multimedia agency, the news comes as a continued show of strength from the agency, riding on the tail of winning Silver Media Agency of the Year at the Ad Age Small Agency Awards. After becoming the AOR for Lidl Grocery, Thrivent Financial, and Dollar Tree/Family Dollar in 2021, NOVUS has invested in its leadership team – landing two veterans from major industry players, Digitas and Starcom, as well as promoting within their own senior executive team – to help position the company for sustainable, future growth.
Montrew Newman, Senior Vice President, Head of Strategy
Newman was recently promoted to a newly created position of SVP, Head of Strategy. Newman is a 30-year industry veteran and one of the top skilled strategic planning and client service specialists in the business. Her work at NOVUS spans a wide spectrum including as a core contributor and driver in NOVUS’ new business & RFP assignments in the last 5 years, and a key leader on major multimedia accounts such as Lidl and Thrivent. Newman works to evolve NOVUS' offerings, provide deeper human insights, drive innovative media tactics, and optimize processes for the rapidly growing and scaled organization.
Paul DeJarnatt, Vice President, Digital
Prior to joining NOVUS in September 2022, DeJarnatt was an 18-year veteran of Publicis, starting in Pubicis’ first digital practice, Starcom IP, and later working across many Publicis Media agencies, most recently Digitas (a full-service digital agency) and Performics (a performance marketing specialist). Paul has worked on and led clients like Lenovo, Victoria's Secret, General Motors, Novartis, Kraft, and Mattel. DeJarnatt helped clients with everything from highly focused performance marketing campaigns to helping clients navigate the media and technology landscape to deliver full omnichannel marketing campaigns that reached consumers throughout their customer journey. DeJarnatt has managed campaigns big and small – from meeting with local dealer groups for General Motors to overseeing the entire global media program for Lenovo. Beyond client-specific work, DeJarnatt led the biddable media capability at Starcom and Performance Solutions at Performics, where he was responsible for developing, scaling, and distributing innovative new products for clients.
Chris Aubin, Vice President, Integrated Client Strategy
Aubin joins NOVUS after 18 years at Starcom Worldwide, where he specialized in local and field-based strategic planning leadership. That included leading regional marketing for Allstate/Esurance, restaurant brands (Applebee’s, Wingstop, Darden, McDonald’s), and specialized retailers (Luxottica, Advance Auto Parts). Most recently, Aubin ran the $300 million Planet Fitness account at Starcom. He additionally served on the Product Acceleration Team, evaluating internal work for awards submissions, and oversaw a long-running Supervisor Success Series program fostering the growth of junior talent.
