The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County (Metro) will hold two public meetings – one virtual and one in person – to discuss the 2023 disparity study. The schedule is as follows:
- In-Person – Wednesday, January 18, 2023, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM CT at the North Police Precinct Community Room, William D. Bodenhamer Building, 2231 26th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37208.
- Virtual - Thursday, January 19, 2023, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM CT via Zoom. REGISTER HERE.
Both events are free and open to the public. Advance registration is required for the January 19th virtual meeting.
Metro commissions a disparity study every five years to evaluate whether a delta exists between the market availability of black, brown, and women-owned businesses and their utilization on Metro contracts. A disparity study is a key legal requirement to any race and gender-conscious programing, including Metro’s Equal Business Opportunity (EBO) program.
Community engagement is critical to the accuracy of disparity study findings and subsequent policy recommendations. Local businesses and community members are encouraged to attend public meetings to share their experiences doing business or attempting to do business with Metro.
