DALLAS (PRWEB) January 30, 2023
Hallett & Perrin, P.C. welcomes Ann Marie Cowdrey as a shareholder in our corporate practice. The firm is also proud to announce that litigation attorney David Hammack has been elected a shareholder of the firm.
Ms. Cowdrey’s practice focuses on transactions involving private equity funds. She represents PE sponsors, especially those focused on energy-related investments, in transactions involving the full life cycle of their funds, including fund structuring and formation, fund investments in portfolio companies, and the realization of portfolio investments through M&A transactions and other monetization events.
Given her fluency with market fund terms, Ms. Cowdrey regularly advises institutional limited partners and family offices in making private equity, venture capital, and other alternative investments.
Her practice also includes a significant regulatory compliance component, advising fund sponsors and portfolio companies alike with their registration, reporting and other requirements under applicable securities laws.
“Ann Marie brings a valuable and in-demand skill set in a competitive transactional market,” said managing shareholder Leland de la Garza. “Our existing clients will benefit from her deep knowledge of the private equity industry and M&A transactions within that space, and her clients will likewise benefit from the breadth and depth of Hallett & Perrin’s bench of talented attorneys.”
Before joining Hallett & Perrin, Ms. Cowdrey was a partner in the Dallas office of Shearman & Sterling LLP and Thompson & Knight LLP (now Holland & Knight). She earned her law degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1992 after receiving her bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1989.
Mr. Hammack, a newly elected litigation shareholder, is a commercial litigator, representing businesses and individuals in a variety of commercial disputes, including contract, fiduciary duty, and ownership disputes in both state and federal courts.
“We are especially proud about David’s promotion, since it represents a recognition of his excellence and success as a lawyer at Hallett & Perrin,” Mr. de la Garza said.
Mr. Hammack earned his bachelor’s degree with honors in 2008 from Baylor University, and his law degree from Baylor Law School in 2014.
