“Advancing diversity, equity and inclusion requires constancy and an acceptance that our work is never done. This award is not an indicator that we’ve ‘made it,’ but a welcome nod that we are on the right path,” said Vaco Holdings Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Farah Salam-Hottle.

Vaco Holdings, a global professional services firm, has been named to Newsweek's first-ever ranking of America's Greatest Workplaces for Diversity. Vaco Holdings scored four out of five stars among 1,000 companies grouped into 34 industries and six main sectors. The publication profiled the top companies that not only celebrate diversity but implement policies that cultivate an inclusive workplace and play key roles in carving out more sustainable and healthier workplaces of the future.
Each year, Vaco Holdings and its family of brands create professional opportunities for thousands of people and design solutions for thousands of companies. Through an evolving mission to support environment, social and governance initiatives, Vaco Holdings is committed to ensuring fairness in the workplace; encouraging expression and the integration of diverse views and cultures; and safeguarding the health, safety, dignity and well-being of all people.
“Advancing diversity, equity and inclusion requires constancy and an acceptance that our work is never done. This award is not an indicator that we’ve ‘made it,’ but a welcome nod that we are on the right path. We are thrilled to be recognized on this inaugural list, and we remain motivated to do more,” said Vaco Holdings Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Farah Salam-Hottle.
Vaco Holdings and its family of brands made great strides in 2022, including:
- Established seven new employee resource groups, engaging >200 employees across all brands
- Expanded access to diverse talent networks with four new partnerships: NABA (National Association of Black Accountants), ASCEND (the largest pan-Asian professional network), ALPFA (Association for Latino Professionals of America) and ACP (American Corporate Partners)
- Facilitated Inclusive Hiring Training across North America
- Hosted 12 celebrations, guest speakers and workshops to increase cultural awareness
- Delivered three Listening Circles to support underserved communities in crisis
Newsweek and market data research firm Plant-A Insights based its scoring on a review of publicly available data, interviews with HR professionals and an anonymous online survey of a diverse pool of employees at companies with 1,000 or more employees in the U.S. Respondents were asked questions about corporate culture, working environment and other subjects at both their own companies and others they were familiar with. The survey yielded more than 350,000 company reviews.
