The Real Estate Marketing Insider announces its Top 3 reasons for homebuyers to do their homework before consulting a realtor. REMI’s announcement comes on the heels of a July 9 report in the Houston Chronicle titled, “Real estate firm aims to save buyers big bucks.”

The Real Estate Marketing Insider published this week’s edition of its Top 3 feature, offering readers a tip-sheet featuring three memorable points to help optimize a real estate or home buying experience. This week’s Top 3 feature offered prospective homebuyers the Top 3 reasons to do “homework” or “legwork” before working with a realtor on finding a home.

REMI’s Top 3 tip-sheet this week was drafted in response to a July 9 report in the Houston Chronicle that featured a Houston-based startup offering an innovative new service to connect realtors and prospective clients. The service, known as Jason’s House, works like most listing services, in that it offers visitors a list of local realtors in their market. Where Jason’s House differs however, is that it guides homebuyers to agents who will offer commission rebates to buyers who come into the office having done legwork on buying their house. The amount of work buyers have already done before they see a realtor may vary, and can range from already having identified properties to having successfully received approval for a mortgage. Based on the amount of preparation the client brings to their home-buying process, agents and offices can then submit bids with rebate offers. Thus, Jason’s House offers a win-win for both parties - clients can get a substantial discount by coming to the home-buying process prepared, and realtors can save time hunting down real estate buyer leads and find clients who are already committed to the process.
