ORANGE, Calif., Feb. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- 360Civic, an Orange County based company that provides web development and technology services to public sector entities, is proud to congratulate Rodrigo Gava, the company's 3D design/animation artist, on the success of his latest film project.
The animated feature Las Aventuras del Pequeño Colón follows the childhood adventures of Christopher Columbus, Leonardo Da Vinci and Mona Lisa. "They were from the same area of Italy and were born a few years apart, so they could have really known each other," Gava said.
The story has young Columbus tracking down a map to a mythic island called Hy-Brasil and setting out on a quest to find it, with the help of his inventive friends.
Gava created the original story and worked on every aspect of the production, serving as both director and animator. It was a labor of love that took three years to complete.
Las Aventuras del Pequeño Colón was released theatrically in Brazil, where it was nominated for the Cinema Brazil Grand Prize, and earned Gava "Best Director" honors at the Recife Cine PE Audiovisual Festival. "Hearing the reactions of 600 kids when the film is screened at festivals has been one of the best parts of this experience," Gava said.
The film is now playing in Spain, and Gava hopes an English language version will be forthcoming to further expand its audience. A sequel is also in the works.
"We're delighted to have a filmmaker of Rodrigo's talents on our 360Civic team, and have been delighted to witness the success he's had with this film and other entertainment projects," said 360Civic CEO Bridget DiRico.
