National Cybersecurity Conference Hosting Job Fair
Largo, Maryland (PRWEB) March 08, 2017 -- The Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) brings together community college educators and leaders to exchange information on cybersecurity in all technology fields. The event is scheduled for June 28 to 30 to be held at Prince George’s Community College and National Harbor, Maryland, with a job fair on the first day.
The job fair, on June 28 from 9 to 11:30 a.m., will enable students to speak with potential employers that have job openings in the IT and security-related fields while also learning what job skills are needed in these careers. Faculty also are invited to attend to understand what kind of positions are available and what skills their students need to be hired.
“With this job fair, 3CS is not only providing the opportunity for students to meet with prospective employers, but just as importantly, for companies and governmental agencies to see first-hand the depth of cybersecurity knowledge that these recent or near-grads have acquired. Additionally, the very act of participating in this job fair moves companies into the nationwide network of colleges that are producing the best and brightest minds in cybersecurity. It is a huge win for everyone involved,” said Barbara Huffman de Belón, director of Scholarship for Service: 2-Year Colleges at National CyberWatch Center.
The 3CS educates teachers and focuses on the role of cybersecurity in all technology fields. It is the only national academic conference focused on cybersecurity education at community colleges. Even for colleges that may not have cybersecurity programs yet but are interested in implementing them, 3CS has options. The learning tracks include colleges and faculty new to cybersecurity; people who teach cybersecurity or colleges preparing to become Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Two-Year Education; those wanting to incorporate elements of cybersecurity in various curricula; and a student track.
