3M Releases New Portfolio of Surface Protection Adhesives with the 3M 800 Series
Westminster, Maryland (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- 3M Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division released a new portfolio of temporary surface protection tapes to the US market and these are available at Strouse. This portfolio of adhesives aims to provide a temporary surface protection solution for every surface and process. In this new portfolio there are four initial adhesive categories that cover a wide variety of applications, Low Tack, Medium Tack, Medium High Tack, and Specialty. Within these four categories there are several adhesive variations to handle specific applications.
Low Tack Surface Protection Tape – Films meant for smooth, high gloss surfaces such as LCD screens, painted metal, or plastic.
Medium Tack Surface Protection Tape – Films meant for lightly textured or semi-gloss surfaces and bending, embossing, roll forming or shallow draw processes such as anodized aluminum, marble, painted metal, high pressure laminate and plastic.
Medium High Tack Surface Protection Tape – Surface protection tapes designed for lightly textured or semi-gloss surfaces that require more than medium tack adhesive.
Specialty Surface Protection Tape – Temporary protective tapes designed for porous or other unique surfaces.
These adhesives enhanced upon key areas of importance for surface protection. The 3M 800 series tapes have a very smooth peel. They are UV resistant and will remove cleanly after 3 days of direct sunlight. The 3M 800 series tapes resist cold, heat, and humidity with up to 38% less haze and up to 7% more clarity with less yellowing. These temporary protection tapes are smooth and quieter on removal, up to 23% quieter with less than 85 dbl. They are also repositionable with a better wet-out and less bubbling and tunneling. This allows you to stick the adhesive to a surface, remove it and place it on the surface again without any significant loss of performance.
