HAZEL CREST, Ill., April 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Grande Prairie Public Library District is pleased to offer, for one night only, the 9th annual COTTON CLUB "IN A BOX", at Hillcrest High School, 17401 Pulaski Road, Country Club Hills, IL, Tuesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. This event is in honor of Jazz History Month and is free for all ages. Also, in honor of National Library Week: "Libraries=Strong Communities," please bring can goods/non-perishable items to be donated to the Bremen and Rich Township Food Pantries.
The Cotton Club was a famous night club in Harlem, NY, that operated during Prohibition and featured Jazz and Tap dancing. At the nightclub you could see many of the greatest entertainers of the era, such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, The Nicholas Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, and many more. Drawing on America's two truest art forms, Jazz and Tap Dancing, we will bring to life the historic venue for one night featuring live entertainment and fun for the entire family. Guest artists include: Guitarist-Buddy Fambro, Pianist-Charlie Johnson, Drummer-Derek Henderson, Vocalists-Tracy Worth and Estavion White, Tap Dancer-Bril Barrett, Bassist-Ron Hall, Sax-Audley Reid, and on Trumpet, Bob Griffin.
