AMG Employee Management, Inc. Anticipates Sick Pay Rule in Effect in California on July 1, 2015 with New Software Feature

AMG Employee Management, Inc. is pleased to announce their strategic creation of automated sick pay calculation in response to the California Healthy Workplace Healthy Family Act (HWHFA) of 2014. This new rule HWHFA, which is effective July 1, 2015, states that, “An employee who works in California for 30 or more days within a year from the beginning of employment is entitled to paid sick leave. Paid sick leave accrues at the rate of one hour per every 30 hours worked, paid at the employee’s regular wage rate.” HWHFA continues to provide more rules for employers on how to accrue for paid sick leave. This ruling will benefit all employees working in the state of California.
