AAMCO, the nation’s leading and the world’s largest chain of transmission specialists with over 900 automotive centers in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, is pleased with the addition of franchise industry veteran Eric Meyer to the brand’s executive team. Meyer was named AAMCO’s Vice President of Franchise Sales and Development earlier this year and was recently promoted to take over as the Vice President of Real Estate; both critical roles as the 50-plus year franchise continues to grow both domestically and internationally.

“We are incredibly excited about the incredible achievements that Eric has contributed to our team and he has absolutely blown us away so far,” said Brian O’Donnell, Senior Vice President of AAMCO. “His deep history in the franchise industry has contributed to our success after the first two quarters of 2013 and his strategic approach to growth will continue to bring us strong franchise owners who are passionate about growing this iconic brand.”

Prior to joining AAMCO, Meyer was the Director of Franchise Development for Paul Davis Restoration, Inc., one of the top home insurance restoration and remodeling franchises in the country. Meyer has also held instrumental positions at Driven Brands, Express Employment Professionals and GMAC Home Services. He excels at implementing unconventional programs and has a track record of success with conversion of independent businesses into new franchise locations.

“AAMCO is such a classic American brand with an overwhelming amount of intellectual capital,” said Meyer. “I’m happy that we have re-energized the brand while spurring development in both new and existing markets, continuing to increase our presence across the nation. Along with the rest of our franchisees and executive team, I couldn’t be happier to continue building this legacy franchise.”

With unprecedented growth in 2012, AAMCO signed 100 deals to end the calendar year. Meyer has big plans for his first year in this new role, planning to reach 160 new deals by the end of 2013.

“The launch of AAMCO’s conversion program is critical in helping us reach this goal,” Meyer explained. “We’re taking a very proactive approach by building the right sales and support team and are using some untraditional growth strategies which have led to a fantastic outcome so far this year.”

AAMCO has been the recognized leader in the transmission business for over forty years. With brand recognition in excess of 90 percent, almost 900 locations nationwide and the most highly skilled technicians in the industry, AAMCO is well positioned to become the market leader in brakes, tune-ups, air conditioning and other aftermarket services.
