Ace Computers Caps 2015 with 2 Major Custom HPC Cluster Orders
CHICAGO (PRWEB) December 11, 2015 -- Ace Computers, acknowledged as a premier build of custom HPC clusters, is capping off a banner year with two major cluster orders—for the U.S. Dept. of Defense, and a world-leading computational physics analysis company.
Ace Computers Vice President Marc Fertik coordinated the DOD order for a trailblazing 400-core triple-head node cluster. Each has its own memory, hard drive, and storage, but shares the same support structure.
“The DOD wanted a central cluster that three unrelated functional departments could share,” Fertik explained. “We worked with them to innovate the solution which, in effect, triples their buying power.”
The second major recent HPC cluster order is the 15th order over eight years from one of Ace Computers most high profile clients. It is a single cluster with its own head node, its own storage and its own infrastructure.
Ace Computers Regional Sales Executive Barry Spiegel said, “We have provided this client with about 2,000 nodes over the span of our relationship. They are continually referring new business to us because we do what we say what we are going to do and it works—it’s as simple as that. Also our clients know that we incorporate a good eco-system into all of our products that leverages the latest and best technology.”
Both Fertik and Spiegel are seeing a trend toward more memory, greater storage capacity, and faster interconnects in their HPC cluster orders and also a trend toward more expansions. “We had a lot of cluster expansions this year as well as new orders,” Fertik said. “Ace Computers had a very strong year that culminated in these two orders.”
