TELOMERES Expert Dr. Harvey Bartnof, M.D. Scheduled to Speak at Two Telomere Presentations
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 01, 2014 -- Dr. Harvey S. Bartnof, M.D, a highly regarded expert in the field of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, recently announced that he will be presenting at the 22nd Annual World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine on December 11, 2014. The doctor, who is well versed on the topics of age management and telomeres, will be presenting research on human case studies from his Institute.
The first presentation, “TELOMERE Shortening & Modulation: Case Studies from the Clinic,” will be held in the afternoon. The next presentation, “TELOMERE MODULATION with TA-65®: Human Case Studies,” will be conducted in the evening. Both presentations are sponsored by T.A. Sciences, a research-based facility that creates clinically tested wellness products that combat cellular aging through telomerase activation.
Also, Dr. Bartnof will be speaking at the 12th Annual Dr. Roizen’s Personalized, Preventive, and Integrative Medicine Conference in Las Vegas on December 5th, 2014. The title of his presentation will be “LENGTHENING TELOMERES SAFELY with Telomerase Activation: Case Studies from the Clinic.”
According to an article on Dr. Bartnof’s website, telomeres are caps at the ends of chromosomes that protect genes. Each time a cell divides, a part of each telomere is lost, thereby making the telomeres shorter as a person ages. Eventually, cells cannot divide anymore because the telomeres are too short, which leads to aging and the development of health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, depression, and cataracts.
“Extensive research shows that shorter telomeres are associated with a higher risk of dying at a younger age,” stated the article. “An enzyme called telomerase helps to extend telomeres by adding back DNA bases at the ends of chromosomes. This allows cells to live longer. The result is that your body's cells are rejuvenated and revert to a more youthful profile.”
Dr. Bartnof’s presentations will discuss telomerase activation leading to longer telomeres. Studies in mice yielded many benefits such as improved health span, better immunity, and partial reversal of organ shrinkage. Additionally, Dr. Bartnof’s evening presentation will examine a published study of telomerase in humans, in which a decrease in their percentage of short telomeres, as well as improved immunity, was discovered.
