Aleratec Launches “My Makeshift Charging Station” Online Photo Contest for Educators
Chatsworth, California (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- Aleratec Inc., award-winning designer, developer and manufacturer of Portable Device Management (PDM) charge/sync products for mobile devices and professional-grade duplicators for hard disk drives, solid state drives, USB flash drives and Blu-ray/DVD/CD discs, is launching a unique and exciting online photo contest called “My Makeshift Charging Station.” With the contest running from August 29th through October 10th, the educator-focused contest will promote the company’s new Portable Device Management products for charging and syncing tablets in the classroom and invites participants to post a picture of their own homemade classroom charging station, cabinet, cart or other invention. The photo submission deadline is September 26.
"When we attended ISTE in Atlanta this year we heard all kinds of stories from educators who have to rig up their own tablet charging and storage stations in the classroom,” says Perry Solomon, Aleratec President and CEO. “That gave us the idea of running a photo contest and let people vote on their favorite contraptions.”
To enter the “My Makeshift Charging Station” contest, participants are asked to take a photo of their home-made charging solution and upload the photo to http://www.aleratec.com/contest.html. Starting on September 12, educators will be invited to vote on the top three winners of the following prizes:
• 1st Prize: Charge and Sync Station Mini 10 ($399 value)
• 2nd Prize: Heavy Duty Aluminum iPad 2 / 3 / 4 Tablet Desktop Mount Holder C-Clamp Bracket ($99.99 value)
• 3rd Prize: Universal Desktop Tablet Stand Mount with Hand Strap Holder for 7-10 inches tablets ($34.99 value)
While the goal of the contest is to bring attention to Aleratec’s new charge and sync cabinet and stations, according to the company, the “My Makeshift Charging Station” has a higher purpose. “We think the contest is a fun and effective way to show just how resourceful classroom educators have to be,” concludes Solomon. “We’re looking forward to seeing some creative entries.”
