Westwood, Mass. (PRWEB) December 10, 2013 -- In "Mayu" (published by Abbott Press), author Amit Sarkar weaves a unique love story set against the background of a terrorist-ridden state.
“This book is based on my most unusual experience during my five-year tenure in an insurgency-plagued state,” explains Sarkar. “The characters in the work were crafted out of the real life in the state.”
Set in Galacia, a former Spanish colony, “Mayu” centers around the brilliant and virtuous daughter of a traditionalist railroad worker. Mayu is a talented student and very popular among her friends. When she catches the eyes of Aaron and Benito one day, they start to compete for her affection. When Benito disappears after graduation, Mayu and Aaron move in together while she completes postgraduate work in economics and Aaron studies music.
Their loving relationship is put on hold, however, when Aaron moves to the United States to continue his classical music studies. Mayu begins work as a civil servant, prosecuting terrorists from Galacia. When Benito turns out to be the first terrorist to be prosecuted, he declares his love for Mayu. Traumatized and confused, Mayu must follow her heart to find the love she’s always wanted.
Filled with passionate romance and a thrilling terror plot, “Mayu” is sure to capture the hearts and minds of readers. Sarkar hopes to highlight the power of love and the dangers of terrorism.
