Realtor Amy Corey Provides Locations to Donate for Providence’s Future Leaders
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) February 24, 2015 -- “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have” is an old adage that most people know very well. The more we live, the better we get at it, but not many get the jumpstart to do so, early in life. This is what Amy Corey and her company, Century 21 Scheetz look to help correct by collecting clothes for Providence Cristo Rey, a local college preparatory school for families with limited financial means. At any of their six locations, they will accept everything from clothes, to shoes, and even accessories. In addition, they will collect prom dresses, due to the school’s upcoming prom event.
To be such a private school, certain things must be done to ensure that the school is able to stay open for the students, which comes in the form of tuition. The main source of tuition payment actually comes from the students themselves and their work study programs; 60% of it, to be precise. To get this, the students each work one day of the week at one of the companies partnered with Providence Cristo Rey. All of the companies are corporate companies allowing these students in at entry level jobs. These opportunities tend to give the students an advantage by giving them the responsibility of having a job and by helping prepare them for college.
“A few years ago I was invited to tour and hear about Providence Cristo Rey High School. I learned they have a high rate of graduating seniors that are being accepted into colleges across the state and beyond,” says Amy. “Most of these kids are the first in their families to graduate high school, let alone go to college. I feel blessed that our Century 21 Scheetz Foundation is able to support this school. Our agents really believe in the partnership of school and the introduction to the corporate world starting in their freshman year. There are many areas to give back in our communities and this is one I truly feel helps break the cycle of poverty, by empowering kids to excel in school and learn and participate in the workforce world through the support of a school like Providence. It really is a great place to help expand our community.”
96th, Carmel, Zionsville, Downtown, Greenwood and Avon are the six locations that will be accepting the donations. For more information on the drive or directions to one of the locations, please contact Amy Corey at 317-705-2537.
