Oxnard Dentists Present for General Dentists, Specialists on Complex Treatments
OXNARD, CA (PRWEB) May 08, 2014 -- When two top cosmetic dentists from the Anacapa Dental Art Institute recently presented to more than 50 general dentists and specialists in Woodland Hills, Teeth in a Day and planning implant treatment for patients needing complex procedures were the topics du jour.
Dr. Saj Jivraj and Dr. Mamaly Reshad gave the presentation as part of their ongoing Anacapa Dental Study Club, which will be offering courses on implant, aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry for dentists around the Oxnard and Woodland Hills, Calif., areas.
Dentists came from as far away as Brentwood and Beverly Hills to attend, Dr. Jivraj said.
That’s likely because Teeth in a Day is still not widely practiced in the United States. Developed 15 years ago in Europe, it allows trained dentists like Dr. Jivraj and Dr. Reshad to put teeth on the dental implants the same day, giving the patient permanent teeth.
“Implants are embedded where bone is available without needing invasive bone graft surgery with teeth in a day,” Dr. Jivraj said. “Several months of work take only a few minutes.”
That’s because conventional dental implant techniques require titanium posts to be embedded in bone and later capped with a permanent crown. This takes several months and requires patients to wear temporary dentures.
“Temporary dentures look fake and often slip at the most inconvenient times,” Dr. Reshad said. “Teeth in a Day let you eat and speak normally with a natural set of teeth.”
The next Anacapa Dental Study Club is set for the third Thursday in July, July 17.
Dr. Reshad and Dr. Jivraj are experts on dental implants and are national and international speakers on the topic.
They are two of the best implant dentists in the world, and their expertise on procedures such as All-on-Four
and All-on-Six dental implants are in high demand.
Dr. Jivraj recently returned from a trip to India where he spoke about full mouth restoration. It is the third time he has presented in India in recent months, including as one of the main podium speakers at the Indian Society of Oral Implantologists conference in Mumbai.
He also spoke during the 29th annual meeting of the prestigious Academy of Osseointegration and gave a two-day training on teeth in a day in Yorba Linda, Calif, at Nobel Biocare’s facility.
Dr. Reshad also presented in Yorba Linda. Dr. Reshad recently gave a 1 ½-day course on full-mouth implant reconstructions in the Southern California area.
Since November, Dr. Reshad has spoken to both the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists in London and the French Dental Association in Paris.
Dr. Reshad and Dr. Jivraj are are prosthodontists trained in advanced techniques in implant dentistry, aesthetics and full-mouth reconstructions. Both are former chairmen of the University of Southern California’s School of Dentistry’s Fixed Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry section.
Dr. Reshad has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and textbooks on various topics related to aesthetics, prosthodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Reshad is on the editorial board for the highly prestigious Journal of Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry and an honorary clinical teacher at the Eastman Dental Institute and a member of the faculty of the Global Institute for Dental Education.
Dr. Jivraj is co-author of the textbook “Treatment Planning in Implant Dentistry,” which is used across the world. Dr. Jivraj is on the editorial board of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, associate clinical editor for Dental Teamwork magazine and an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.
