Antonia A. Akahara’s new book promotes classroom creativity, play
SACHSE, Texas (PRWEB) January 09, 2015 -- Emphasizing the play method of learning over the lecture method of teaching for pre-primary school-aged children, the new book “Pre-Primary Education in Nigeria: Methods for Effective Teaching and Learning” (published by AuthorHouse) by author Antonia A. Akahara aims to improve upon Nigeria’s early childhood education system. The book promotes play, creativity and activity in the classroom as solid approaches to improving the development of preschool children in Nigeria.
Within this new instructional tool for early childhood educators and parents alike, readers will find a wealth of information about the importance of play and interaction to growing minds. Akahara presents the three specific areas designated by the 2005 National Policy for Integrated Early Childhood Development in Nigeria – curriculum innovations, teaching learning activities and hobbies, and the specific roles and functions of education – and outlines ways to achieve these prescriptions and other educational objectives.
“The book is designed to provide parents and teachers of young children practical and result-oriented ways of achieving the best-quality education at this level, based on any available curriculum guidelines and more,” Akahara says. “It includes detailed discussions on various methods and activities for teaching a variety of topics for preschool learning, based on the knowledge of what children learn and how they learn best.”
