AppWarp cloud services have now been extended to Sao Paulo! This is great news for multiplayer game developers whose target audience is primarily in South America.
The location of the game server, which impacts the round trip time with the clients, is an important factor for realtime games. It impacts the latency in game play and hence the end user experience. As the AppWarp community is growing in popularity, Shephertz had received numerous requests in the recent months to extend the cloud services to this region.
Now when developers create an app with AppWarp type from their dashboard, they can choose between US, Japan, Europe and Sao Paulo servers as their default location depending on their target audience.
In our previous release we announced the ability to programmatically switch regions on the fly. This means that even for those applications whose default location is not Sao Paulo, can dynamically change the region their application connects to if they detect the user is in South America.
