SanDiego.com Proclaims Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark San Diego is Becoming New Summer Hot Spot
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- Knott's Soak City Chula Vista was a staple among San Diego things to do in summertime since it's opening in 2000, but on November 20, 2012, Knott's Soak City owner Cedar Fair sold the popular San Diego theme park to SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. As fans said goodbye to the beloved Knott's Soak City, they awaited the return of a fun San Diego waterpark and on June 1, 2013, what was once Knott's Soak City Chula Vista reemerged as Aquatica, SeaWorld Waterpark San Diego.
Owned an operated by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Aquatica kept the traditional waterpark thrills and slides, but added some SeaWorld San Diego flare. It wouldn't be a SeaWorld park without any marine mammals and wildlife, so San Diego Aquatica brought in flamingos and freshwater turtles for added amusement. Aquatica San Diego still maintains a focus on water slides and thrills with rides like Tassie's Twister and Whanau Way as well as the traditional wave pools. There is no better place to be this summer in San Diego than Aquatica, so guests should make sure to schedule some waterpark fun on their next San Diego vacation.
The completely refurbished park now sits on 32 acres in San Diego's South Bay and features water fun for visitors of all ages. Little kids can play in the Slippity Dippity area or take a ride on Loggerhead Lane, the 1,250 foot lazy river. Older visitors looking for some major thrills can take a ride down the HooRoo Run with the steepest drop in the park plummeting thrill seekers a whopping 80 feet!
Although Knott's Soak City was a popular destination for summertime fun in San Diego, the change in ownership hasn't had a serious effect on ticket sales. Locals and visitors are flocking to Aquatica, SeaWorld Waterpark in San Diego to enjoy fun in the sun, catch some thrills and spend the day at this completely redesigned San Diego summer hot spot.
