Portland Artist Karen Russell Announces Call to Artists for "In Bloom: A Portland-Themed Art Show" at Denizen Gallery, Milepost 5, April 4
Portland, OR (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- Local Painter Karen Russell has announced a call for artists to exhibit their works at Milepost 5, April 4 in a show titled "In Bloom: A Portland Themed Art Show." Russell is looking to share gallery space with other artists who love Portland, and wish to express their perception of "stumptown" in their medium/media of choice.
Exhibited artwork should be representative of the city—any elements found in the Portland landscape that the artist chooses to translate.
“Pretty much it just entails everything Portland,” Russell says. “There is a lot of city pride here, and Portlanders relate the city to many things, from roses, to rain, to the strippers who contribute to the fabric of Portland.”
Cut-off for artists wishing to include their work is March 28. The show will begin at 7 p.m., April 4 at Milepost 5, 850 N.E. 81st Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97213. For more information, email colorbars42(at)gmail(dot)com.
