Heritage Woods of Charleston, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting a complimentary Breakfast for Seniors from 7 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 13.

The community, which is located at 480 W. Polk Ave. in Charleston, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

"Seniors and their families are invited to come and enjoy a hearty start to their day and the fellowship of the residents and staff of Heritage Woods," says Samantha Landrus, Director of Marketing.

Tours of Heritage Woods will be available.

Heritage Woods is sponsoring the Breakfast for Seniors on the second Saturday of the month through the end of the year.

Heritage Woods of Charleston combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services such as three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry.

Residents live in private apartments that they furnish and decorate to their tastes. Each of the studio and one-bedroom floor plans features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs," says Landrus.

Heritage Woods of Charleston is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program. The emphasis of the program is on personal choice, dignity, privacy and individuality, says Landrus.

The affordable assisted living community is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., of Bradley, Illinois. BMA is the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
