Richard Pierce fares on his maiden voyage in the world of literature with his fictional debut, "Bloodline" (published by Xlibris). The story follows the Richardson’s, a family that has gone through a series of unfortunate events and tragedy that concluded with the death of their oldest child. "Bloodline" is a story of suspense and intrigue that follows the Richardson’s as they try to unlock the mystery that continues to haunt them.
The Family is in desperate need for a new start after the hell they went through the last year. Then the Richardson’s found out they inherited a plantation in Virginia called Ravenwood. The Richardson’s consists of Dominion; who played professional baseball until he was injured; Michelle, his wife is a strong minded woman who loves her family and has been overprotected since the death of her oldest son, Dominion Jr; and Angelina and Ricky, the youngest, who has not spoken since the death of his brother who died about six months ago.
Their house was not the same after the death of Dominion and that was the deciding factor that prompted them to move into a Ravenswood, a plantation with a checkered pass. Michelle made it clear that if anything went wrong she was holding Dominion solely responsible. Dominion was indeed the sole beneficiary of a plantation; the only other living heir had been committed to the psychiatric hospital in Petersburg. Dominion found out later that the other heir’s name was Samuel and Samuel lived at the plantation until he was committed.
At first, everything at Ravenswood was perfect. But then things started to happen. They eventually hinted that something was indeed, very wrong. No matter what they did, something was after them and it was gaining. What will the Richardson’s do? Where will they go? What does it want and how can they stop it? To make matters worse, their daughter is saying that Ricky is talking in his sleep but does not say a word while he is awake. Is she right and if she is, who is Ricky talking to? A spooky and surprising ending awaits the reader at the final chapters.
The book author confesses that he would never have written "Bloodline" if it was not for a vision that he received late one night. The vision showed him that he should write a book. His father, who is a pastor, explained to him later that God was tired of giving hints and told him directly. This was confirmed because when writing the author never knew what he is going to write until he wrote it. The author did not know the ending until he wrote it.
