Baker Electric, Inc. Names Angie McAnelly Director of Safety
Escondido, Calif. (PRWEB) April 08, 2014 -- Baker Electric, Inc. is pleased to formally announce its appointment of Angie McAnelly, CHST, CISEC, QSP, as its Director of Safety. As a Certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), McAnelly brings a wealth of experience to her promotion from Baker Electric, Inc. Safety Manager to Director of Safety.
As Baker Electric, Inc.’s Director of Safety, McAnelly is responsible for the environmental, health and safety of Baker Electric, Inc. employees, field teams, subcontractors, vendors and customers. At both the corporate and project level, she has an award-winning track record of reducing workplace incidents through proactive policy development and implementation. McAnelly is an expert at inspecting, evaluating and enforcing workplace safety in accordance with regulatory and contract requirements. Her interpersonal, presentation and training skills serve the company’s wide range of training needs.
McAnelly is an environmental, health and safety professional. She brings more than 13 years of workplace safety experience to her new position. She joined Escondido-based Baker Electric, Inc. in January 2012 as Safety Manager. Prior to joining Baker Electric she served as Loss Prevention Manager at Balfour Beatty Construction in San Diego and Safety Manager / HR Manager for Big Island Cleaning in Escondido.
Under her leadership, Baker Electric, Inc. has received one National Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA), four San Diego AGC Construction Safety Excellence Awards and one San Diego American Subcontractors Alliance (ASA) Safety Award.
Most recently Baker Electric, Inc. received first place in the National AGC of America Construction Safety Excellence Awards in the Specialty Contractor Division, 700,001 to 1 million work-hours category. The award was based on: management’s commitment to safety; the new programs, procedures and resources it uses to promote safety; its employees involvement in safety; the specific unique activities it does to promote safety; and the fact that there were no fatalities or multi-catastrophic injuries in 2013.
McAnelly holds a Computer Information Science Certificate from Coleman College, San Marcos. She has earned both the Professional Certification in Safety and Health, Specialization in Construction and the Professional Certification in Safety and Health, Specialization in General Industry from the UCSD OSHA Institute and also has the Cal/OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry Certificate and more.
McAnelly is a member of the San Diego AGC Chapter and serves on its Safety Committee. In addition she is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and California Storm Water Quality Association.
