TCGRx Enhances Medication Safety Even Further With New Batch Validator for InspectRx®
Powers Lake, Wisconsin (PRWEB) March 17, 2016 -- TCGRx, the industry leading supplier of pharmacy automation, announced today that they have released the Batch Validator. A compliment to the InspectRx® product line, the Batch Validator uses software to filter flagged or suspect patient fills, from other patient rolls of adherepac pouches that have been approved. Batch Validator helps to move approved patient orders to shipping while non-approved orders go through the correction process. The system also ensures that all patient orders for a facility or batch are accounted for prior to shipping. Matt Noffsinger, SVP of Business Development and Sales, at TCGRx stated, “Technicians no longer have to dig through bins containing unorganized patient rolls or strips to decipher pouches that may need correction, wasting valuable time. With Batch Validator, identification of pouches needing correction or review is as simple as scanning two barcodes.” The Batch Validator is a supplement to the InspectRx, which ensures the quality of the packaging process and reduces the labor associated with manual checking. The Collector™ automates the collation process by automatically separating each patient strip and rolling and taping it, preparing it for delivery. The Batch Validator ensures accountability of each patient roll by confirming that each roll is accounted for in the order, prior to departure from the pharmacy. An additional Inspection Report details what AdherePacs are in a specific shipment, and can also include valuable information on what pouches were manipulated for necessary corrections, aiding nurses or caregivers with the medication check-in process and streamlining the medication pass.
The Batch Validator integrates with the comprehensive suite of pharmacy solutions offered by TCGRx, including the ATP® 2, a scalable Automated Tablet Packaging system, automating your oral solid formulary with unlimited canister capability, including ½ tab dispensing, and a revolutionary dual tray allowing the ATP 2 to run continuously without stops for tray refills. ATP 2 AdherePacs can be printed with color indicators to signify the proper pass times, in addition to logos, icons, and patient images.
Strip packaging and adherence packaging is becoming more commonplace in the U.S. market and as a result, products and services need to evolve to accommodate the increase in volume, and demands for new features.
