New Best Drug Rehabilitation Blog Looks at the Dangerous Risks That Kids are Taking to Get High
(PRWEB) May 21, 2014 -- In its latest blog post Best Drug Rehabilitation, which offers treatment programs and believes that having family close by during a stay in rehab can make a big difference in whether or not the process is successful, is looking at the dangerous risks that kids are taking to get high.
“Many parents today would be shocked to discover how thousands of kids across the country and getting high on a regular basis,” commented Best Drug Rehabilitation’s CEO Per Wickstrom. “What’s more, many of these kids are ending up in the emergency room – or in some extreme cases, the morgue. Parents need to get informed so that they can talk to their kids, and take proactive steps to avoid a tragedy.”
According to the Best Drug Rehabilitation blog post, some of the risky and dangerous ways that today’s kids are getting high include:
• Inhaling alcohol vapors
• Distilling hand sanitizers with salt to create highly concentrated alcohol shots
• Putting limp balm on their eyelids
• Taking cold medication (because of the active ingredient dextromethorphan)
• Ingesting nutmeg (the active ingredient myristicin functions as a hallucinogenic)
• Pouring vodka in their eyes so that it gets into the bloodstream (a.k.a. “vodka eyeballing”)
• Soaking gummy bears in alcohol and then freezing them, so they can be eaten throughout the day
Added Per Wickstrom: “While marijuana use today is higher than it has ever been and certainly a cause for concern, parents have to look beyond conventional drugs and realize that the drug landscape has changed – and for the worse.”
