The event will be held in State Farm’s parking lot at 1101-B Memorial Blvd., Springfield, TN 37172, on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is free and open to anyone who would like to bring any paper items to be shredded.

“It will be the perfect opportunity to get rid of old documents people don’t need anymore and empty out those old filing cabinets that are taking up too much space,” said Beth. “It’s also an ideal opportunity for those who don’t own shredders to dispose of sensitive documents with personal information so as to preemptively thwart identity theft.”

In addition to combating identity theft, which approximately 15 million Americans fall victim to each year, Shred Day is a chance for people who have digitized their documents to get rid of unnecessary paper and/or recycle their paper, or for those who are just doing some spring cleaning. Documents will be shredded by KnightHorst (http://www.knighthorst.com), whose “business is protecting your business.” KnightHorst, whose clients include banks, law firms, hospitals and federal, state and city government offices, provides a certificate of destruction once service is completed. For added security, its shredding trucks are tracked and monitored 24/7 through a high-tech GPS tracking and monitoring system and have computers that give up-to-date shredding activities such as location and job status.
