Bluetooth engineers using Sodera tools can analyze, debug, and troubleshoot Bluetooth 5 enabled devices today, quickly and easily.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announced that Bluetooth 5 brings an outstanding array of new features including: quadruple the range, double the speed, and an 800% increase in data broadcasting capacity. Innovations like these are driving the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution with ever increasingly connected devices, as well as “connectionless” technologies used by beacons and mesh networks used in home, education, work, and industrial applications.

Frontline Sodera analyzers represent the latest in Bluetooth protocol analysis. They capture all Bluetooth communications across the entire 2.4 GHz spectrum concurrently (wideband) and allow developers to choose the devices to be decrypted and decoded for further analysis, either as they happen or later, when saved for review. Frontline Sodera comes with an onboard battery and memory, enabling “Excursion Mode” where connections to external power or even a PC is not required. Sodera is also the only analyzer on the market that when combined with the Frontline 802.11 analyzer via ProbeSync™ can capture, decrypt, and decode both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi packets and display them in a single coexistence view.

Flexibility is built in to the Sodera family of analyzers. Teledyne LeCroy engineers, utilizing the analyzer’s software defined radio, keep up with changes and advances in the Bluetooth specification by applying software updates and patches via software. Teledyne LeCroy works closely with the Bluetooth SIG's core working groups, participating in formal and informal IOPs, and as members of technology committees. Our tools fully support the current Bluetooth specification and include support for future updates and enhancements, like the still-to-be released Bluetooth 5 specifications, as they are released by the Bluetooth SIG.
