Brightree Announces Compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Change Request 8358
Atlanta and National Harbor, MD. (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- Brightree, the leading provider of cloud-based clinical, billing and business management software solutions for the post-acute care industry, announced today that its Brightree® Hospice solution is compliant with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Change Request (CR) 8358. Effective on April 1, 2014, Medicare CR-8358 requires hospice organizations to provide additional claims data to support hospice payment reform.
“Keeping up with the pace of regulatory change in the industry is a tremendous challenge for hospice organizations, but also introduces a significant growth opportunity for long-term success,” said Chris Watson, chief operating officer at Brightree. “Hospice organizations using our cloud-based solution not only can evolve their organizations ahead of regulatory requirements, but also can take advantage of streamlined workflow, data efficiencies and other business process improvements that come along with enhancements to accommodate market changes, including regulatory ones.”
For example, Brightree Hospice users can now streamline workflow on data entry with an automatic import of patient medication fill detail from the top pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to support medication fill reporting requirements. In addition, Brightree Hospice includes enhancements for referencing patient fill history and new workflow tasks to ensure refill information is included on billing claims.
Additionally, the enhanced Brightree Hospice solution now includes the following capabilities:
• Track medication fill history on the patients’ profile for inclusion on reimbursement claims
• Report on prescription medications, infusion pumps and infusion drugs
• Record general inpatient (GIP) detailed activity when service is provided in a skilled nursing
facility or a GIP Hospital
• Report the National Provider Identifier (NPI) of the care facility when it is different from the billing hospice
• Use a post-mortem modifier when visits occur after or on the date of death
Brightree will be demonstrating its Hospice Solution in booth #133 at the 29th Annual National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) Management and Leadership conference on March 27-29, 2014, at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center in National Harbor, Md.
