Local Schools Earn Good Ratings, Reports Leading Bucks County Real Estate Firm
Bucks County, PA (PRWEB) March 13, 2014 -- Schools in Bucks County and Eastern Montgomery County recently earned mostly good ratings, as announced by the Pennsylvania Department of Education last December 2013. Of the 171 public and charter schools found in those counties, a majority achieved a rating of 70 percent and above on the State's School Performance Profile, says Bucks County real estate expert Edward Kent, citing a report by local newspaper The Intelligencer.
"This is good news not only for the families whose children go to our schools, but also for those planning to relocate here," says Kent, who is the broker/owner of prominent local real estate firm Olde Towne Real Estate. "We take great pride in our schools, and this report can only reassure parents who are concerned that their children only receive the best education possible."
The current ratings are part of a new system implemented just last October, which factor in data like standardized test results, academic growth, attendance, graduation, increased student achievement and more, in order to formulate a school’s report card based on a 100-point scale.
“All the ratings plus extensive information about each school are posted at the State’s education department website, PASchoolPerformance.org,” says Kent. “This is a great tool for prospective residents who are seeking more detailed information about schools. For instance, if they’re considering purchasing Lower and Upper Southampton Real Estate or Bucks County homes for sale, they can check the site and do a comparison of the ratings that each school in Southampton received.”
Kent also adds that since education is a priority among homebuyers who are parents, the website of Olde Towne Real Estate has taken care to provide them with most of the information they require. “Our website has links to most of the educational concerns that are important to parents, from school contact information to general sites with school ratings,” he says. “By doing this, we give them the most up-to-date information available on the current state of our schools, which will hopefully help them make more informed decisions.”
