Commuter Air Technology Develops New Products to Enhance Payload, Reduce Gross Weight and Increase Aircraft Safety
(PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- For almost 30 years, Oklahoma City-based Commuter Air Technology (CAT) has consistently developed innovative products to improve the performance and safety of aircraft such as the King Air series.
Constantly innovating, the company is currently working on a variety of performance enhancing certifications to increase payload, reduce gross weight and add range to the King Air family, as well as numerous passenger communications, entertainment and avionics enhancements.
CAT's broad range of enhancements, modifications and FAA Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) add resale value and increase the utility of several aircraft lines, such as the Cessna Caravan, Beechjet, Beech 1900 and Twin Commander, in addition to the King Air.
The company owns over 50 STCs and is in the process of developing several new and revised STCs and modifications allowing it to provide even more innovative and value-enhancing technologies for its customers.
“Our people are innovators who seek ways to enhance aircraft performance, safety, and value with lighter weights in the cabin, fuel saving technologies and other products that enhance aviation investment and operational experience for our customers,” said Darryl Wilkerson, CAT President. “The vast number of STCs we have received from the FAA allow us to implement these innovations across many models of aircraft.”
CAT provides certified gross weight increase kits for the King Air 250 and range increasing fuel systems for the King 200 and 300 family. It also has FAA-approved light weight interiors and avionics upgrades that can reduce the empty weight of King Airs from 500 to 1,000 pounds.
CAT has manufactured more than 100 highly modified CAT Passenger and System Safety (CATPass) 13 passenger high-density commuter aircraft that are still in service worldwide.
