Mr. Rand was nominated by an associate outside of Rand Group, and his accomplishments in both business and community involvement were listed as reasons he should be considered for the award. As an accomplished business professional, Mr. Rand has helped build and grow his company to 85+ professionals with annual revenues in excess of $17.2 million. As noted in his nomination, he has done this all while maintain a high level of community involvement across various areas in Houston, including serving as the President of the Houston Public Media board, and sitting on the board of directors at the Houston Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Mr. Rand has made it a business mandate to help fund the arts in Houston, and Rand Group has been an avid supported and underwriter for organizations such as Houston PBS, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Alley Theatre.
