I really believe Laser Pointer's slide design allowed me to present this in a much more effective way

California Dental Association’s (CDA) Annual Meeting will be on May 15-17 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. Laser Pointer, a presentation design firm specializing in helping dental and medical speakers will be at the conference to support clients. “While we have no official capacity this year, any speaker who would like assistance spiffing up their presentation may contact us to set an appointment either before or during the meeting” says Margy Schaller, President of Laser Pointer. They have also announced a $50 pre-show special for a custom background for PowerPoint or Keynote presentations.
With CDA’s theme of “The Art and Science of Dentistry”, Margy Schaller encourages all speakers to take some time to apply the same philosophy to their slides. Whether the lecture is clinical, procedural or inspirational, adults respond better to visuals than text. “If you’ve ever seen a scientific TED Talk, you know that visual representation is ‘in’ and bullet points are ‘out’”, says Margy, “but knowing how to create that type of look isn’t always easy.”
Many dental talks feature hundreds of case slides but are still riddled with text heavy slides in between. One of Laser Pointer’s clients, Dr. Ali Kanawati, recently presented at an international dental conference at NYU. After receiving rave reviews, he said, “I really believe the slide format allowed me to present this in a much more effective way!”. Another client, Dr. James Rivers said about his experience, ““I would not have been able to make the slides have the eye catching design and organization that Laser Pointer was able to create. Margy Schaller is very knowledgeable in using presentation design to keep the audience focused on what is being presented. I was impressed with how fast the work was done by Laser Pointer and was very happy with the final product.”
