According to a recent New York Times article the Obama administration has given insurers and employers a one-year grace period to comply with the policy, citing technological issues.

A senior administration official stated, "We knew this was an important issue. They asked for more time to comply."
The delay of this important consumer protection law comes on the heels of another one-year delay to a provision of Obamacare that was announced last month. The provision in question required larger employers to offer health coverage to full time employees.
