NPO, Help4Cancer.Net Launches Cancer Peace Radio™ Brings Real People, Real Stories, and Real Experts That Talk About Life with Cancer
Vancouver, WA (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- Featuring two weekly shows hosted by Dr. Ken Weizer, a cancer survivor, who has clinics at the Providence Cancer Center and Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon and Help4Cancer.net founder Mark Burright who is a long time cancer advocate and caregiver.
People who face a cancer diagnosis, and those who are living with cancer, have a steep learning curve to climb and an array of personal and family issues to cope with. In the US, there are nearly 12 million living with cancer and 1.6 million diagnoses each year. Many patients, family members and survivors are trying to deal with this alone, or as an isolated family unit. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Cancer Peace Radio™ fills a gaping need in the national discussion of how to survive and thrive in the cancer journey. Not just as a patient or survivor, but as a person with hope and peace.
Tuesday evenings show is hosted by Help4Cancer.net founder Mark Burright, and features doctors, social workers and leaders in the cancer field to offer advice and guidance throughout the cancer continuum. Thursday night’s show, hosted by Dr. Ken Weizer, offers a forum for cancer patients, cancer survivors, and caregivers to express their individual stories in an honest, supported, and loving environment.
Guests include Stephan Spurgeon, MD from OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, Christopher Yasenchak, MD from Compass Oncology, John Godwin, MD from Providence and Robert W. Franz Cancer Research Center, Thomas Deloughery, MD from Oregon Health Science University, and Sue Sumpter, RN MS, Patient Services Manager from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In addition to its more recognizable guests, Cancer Peace Radio™ invites patients, survivors and caregivers to share their stories, offering insight into what it is like to live with cancer and offer advice to listeners based on their experiences.
