Cap-OP Energy, an Associate of The Prasino Group, to Participate in New SCEK Project Aimed at Establishing Emission Standards for Pneumatic Devices
Calgary, Alberta (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- Cap-Op Energy, a leader in the field of carbon offset technology, will be participating in a new Science and Community Environmental Knowledge (SCEK) project starting August 1st. Working as an associate of The Prasino Group, Cap-Op Energy will utilize its sampling of a statistically-valid field sample of pneumatic devices and pumps to determine emission factors that can be applied to industries’ fleets for the purpose of complying with reporting requirements.
The project, “Sampling of Pneumatic Devices at Oil and Gas Sites and Development of Emission Factors for those Devices” is aimed at allowing an alternative method of monitoring and reporting Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from pneumatic instrumentation and pumps in British Columbia, Canada. The objective of the project is to sample pneumatic devices at oil and gas sites and to develop emission factors for these devices in support of compliance reporting in BC, effectively providing a path forward for the design, coordination, analysis and reporting associated with establishing appropriate emission factors by device type.
Adam Winter, President of Cap-Op sais “this is the first large scale, field-based pneumatic device performance evaluation that we are aware of. The results should benefit industry, government and the environment.“
The projected timeframe for the project ends on November 30th of this year.

About Cap-Op Energy:
Cap-Op Energy is a pioneer in the clean energy technology sector, and was co-founded by Keith Driver of The Prasino Group, and Adam Winter. Combined, they have over 25 years of experience in the clean technology implementation and Canadian greenhouse gas regulation sectors. PTAC has agreed to support the DEEPP initiative through an official PTAC collaboration project in 2012 and 2013.
About SCEK:
The Science and Community Environmental Knowledge (SCEK) fund supports practical studies that develop credible and relevant information to address knowledge gaps in the understanding and management of high priority environmental and social matters related to oil and gas exploration and development in BC. Research findings from SCEK funded projects are shared with organizations in the oil and gas industry as well as regulators and government agencies, First Nations and other stakeholders.
