“This major investment is part of our strategic plan to offer our clients more services and solutions, while keeping our costs low and our systems manageable.

Carolina Digital, a leading lower-cost VoIP phone system solution provider for business, schools and government, announced today that it has greatly expanded its call control intelligence capacity due to a major investment in Class 4 and Class 5 softswitches.

The investment in NetSapiens’ SNAPsolution supports automatic call switching from both end user SIP-based devices (e.g. IADs, enterprise gateways and ATAs), and carrier side SIP-based trunking interfaces (low/high volume TDM trunking gateways and any certified SIP carrier).

The added capacity enables Carolina Digital to provide its growing roster of customers with key innovations and additions, including:

  • Enhanced unified communication tools to stay connected with colleagues and customers, such as video conferencing and chat.
  • A more intuitive, efficient and user-friendly web portal for managing security.
  • The ability to tailor features and functionality on a per user basis.
  • The capacity to extend desktop phones to mobile integration via a smartphone app.

The investment also enables Carolina Digital to leverage national redundancy through multiple data centers (no single point of failure), scale to over a million users, and take advantage of greater call flow control, intelligent routing, integrated billing services, and more.

“This major investment is part of our strategic plan to offer our clients more services and solutions, while keeping our costs low and our systems manageable,” commented Nicky Smith, Carolina Digital’s CEO and Founder. “We decided to partner with NetSapiens because they have an outstanding reputation in the industry for expertise and support, and their technology is world-class.”

“As a company that has been in business since 2003, Carolina Digital Phone, Inc. is a great partner that we are glad to have join the NetSapiens community,” commented Anand Buch, NetSapiens’ CEO. “We are excited to be a part of their nationwide offerings to business, schools and government and look forward to helping them continue to bring best of breed technologies to their customers.”
