Joy Cauffman and Ronald Linder Expose Fraud Committee in New Book
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- Watergate wasn’t President Richard Nixon’s only scandal. In 1971, the President’s Committee on Health Education was formed, a committee supposedly dedicated to responding to escalated medical costs of the time. For members Joy Garrison Cauffman and Ronald L. Linder, the committee was a scam. Their new book, “A Forty-Year Retrospective of President Nixon’s Committee on Health Education: A Whistle-Blower’s Diary” (published by iUniverse), details how the committee’s outcome was predetermined, ignoring and suppressing the opinions of health educators, long before it even met and how Cauffman was threatened for speaking out.
“Without this book,” writes Linder, who was an alternate member of the committee, “few decision makers would even know what actually took place in this Presidential Committee on Health Education.”
Though the committee was established to address health care costs, Cauffman and Linder saw very little discussion. Instead, the committee was a front, a political tool for Nixon to use to push his political agenda. The testimonies of health care educators were silenced and ignored. When she tried to speak out, Cauffman was threatened by Nixon’s representatives.
Both Cauffman and Linder are dedicated to bringing to light the problems facing the healthcare system and how to go about fixing them. Linder states, “The future of health care in America is critically dependent on our ability to educate people on how to establish and maintain their health in addition to applying certain technologies that reduces costs in both preventing and treating health problems.”
