Certica Solutions Announces Technology and Learning Initiatives
Wakefield,MA (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- Certica Solutions (Certica), provider of K-12 data management software and education content solutions, today announced two new initiatives related to the company’s Formative Assessment Item Bank™ (FAIB) – a repository of over 85,800 standards-aligned test items in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. FAIB is made available to educators through a network of education technology platform partners and learning assessment providers.
Certica will launch the two initiatives, Item Connect™ and Learning Hub™, in January 2016.
Item Connect
Certica introduces Item Connect, a cloud-based delivery capability for FAIB, accessible via application program interfaces (APIs). Using Item Connect, Certica’s education technology partners will easily integrate FAIB content from the cloud, including test items (both technology-enhanced items (TEIs) and traditional items), passages, rubrics, distractor rationales, and all associated metadata. Item Connect will be available to Certica’s technology platform partners for use with their FAIB customers at no additional cost.
Item Connect’s real-time availability of new FAIB content will eliminate the lag associated with integrating periodic releases of FAIB into partners’ platforms. Item Connect will also accelerate the introduction of TEIs for partners who do not currently support TEIs. In addition, Item Connect features an embeddable online item player for delivery and rendering of all FAIB item content in partners’ platforms.
Certica is now hosting an early adopter program for Item Connect, for education technology partners who wish to implement Item Connect integration and provide input into its future roadmap. Partners can contact PartnerServices(at)CerticaSolutions(dot)com for more information about the early adopter program.
Learning Hub
Certica will also launch Learning Hub, a free online professional development resource for educators who use FAIB in their learning and assessment programs. Learning Hub will include a library of instructional information on how to optimize the use of FAIB in testing and assessment, and include best practices for developing high-quality formative assessments to achieve educators’ goals.
Learning Hub will also include information from K-12 education sector leaders, success stories from FAIB users, news, and information about the assessment field generally. Educators and Certica partners who wish to learn more about Learning Hub prior to its introduction in 2016 can contact PartnerServices(at)CerticaSolutions(dot)com.
Said Mark Rankovic, Certica’s chief executive officer, “we are excited to be announcing these two initiatives which we believe will provide significant value to our technology partners and the educators who use FAIB. We are committed to delivering and evolving a rich, relevant and accessible set of capabilities, programs and resources to our partners – in the areas of technology integration and professional development – so that partners can be even more effective in their use of and interaction with our item bank.”
