Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) February 13, 2014
For those who have a keen interest in Drupal Software and look forward to spending a day chatting with, and learning from, other folks with like minds, the Charlotte Drupal Drive-In will be a great resource. The Drupal Association has provided CharDUG’s Drupal Drive-In event with a community cultivation grant to provide all the food and beverages. The event is free to everyone and will be held Saturday, February 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Drive-In event will be in the style of a barcamp - a participant-driven, day-long event, where the attendees will choose the topic discussed. These discussions will be predominantly related to Drupal and other web-related technologies. Everyone will be given the opportunity to discuss thoughts and pose questions, pitch ideas, as well as lead impromptu talks and even create presentations with other attendees. Once the idea pitches are made, each attendee will get the chance to vote on the ones they found the most compelling. This setup lends to an easy-going environment and fluid schedule, all while keeping the topics dynamic.
As an educational, nonprofit organization, The Drupal Association fosters and supports the Drupal software project, the community and its growth. The group relies on the support of its membership to help fund the essential role it plays, engaging in new projects and initiatives in order to educate people about the platform. The Drupal Association is sustained by both individual members and organizations and uses its resources, network and funds to engage in new projects as consistently as possible.
“I like the vibe,” says a current member of CharDUG. “CharDUG is a very inclusive and collaborative environment where I feel open to ask questions no matter how elementary they may seem. ”
Drupal, a popular content management system, has been the fuel to what fires The Drupal Association’s topics and discussions within the CharDUG (Charlotte Drupal User Group) community. Drupal has proven to be a platform that many nonprofits, individuals and website development firms use for their websites and web applications. Among many of the businesses and organizations that use Drupal as their platform; AT&T, Linux Foundation, CNN, The Grammys, and most importantly, The White House are a few that stand out. Numerous inquiries ranging from its use to whether it is the right fit for businesses are quite common, and CharDUG is happy to answer questions and supply information and tools to better utilize Drupal.
Along with the group’s fervent members, Classic has been a long time supporter of CharDUG by providing venues for events and supplying design and printing material for promotional purposes. Classic is a nationally recognized, award winning graphic communications company that serves top corporations in the nation and their agencies of record. They pride themselves on their dedication to continuous integration of technology and willingness to embrace change, and are one of the top Drupal development companies in the Southeast. The event is also being sponsored by Command Partners, a digital marketing agency in Charlotte that specializes in Drupal SEO.
